Our core team has roots going back to the earliest days of packet communications, where they helped to shape the contours of the VoIP industry as leaders at Nuera Communications, Inc., one of the first vendors of carrier class IP telephony solutions.
Anand Buch, Co–founder, Chief Executive Officer and Director
Anand believes that just the right mix of expertise and technology can level the playing field for the smaller guys, and has made it his mission to empower niche service providers to coexist and compete collectively as a disruptive force. Prior to NetSapiens, Anand held various cross disciplinary technical and leadership positions at Nuera Communications, Inc., culminating as Director of Engineering and Product Line Lead. At Nuera, he successfully drove the organizational transformation of the Company’s Systems Integration division to meet the demands of a high growth VoIP technology company while leading cross functional teams that conceived and launched the company’s latest line of products. Anand received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from San Diego State University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign.
David Wang, Co–Founder, Chief Technology Officer and Director
David has more than 20 years of management and technology leadership experience in the telecommunications industry. He is the genesis of the technology vision for NetSapiens and drives all innovation, research, development, and product commercialization. Prior to NetSapiens, David served as the CTO of Nuera Communications, where he was the driving technical force behind the company’s award winning carrier class VoIP solutions. During the early life of VoIP industry standardization, David served as the Rapporteur for the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) Project Telecommunications and Internet Protocol Harmonization Over Networks (TIPHON), and also extensively contributed to and participated in the IMTC, IETF, and Frame Relay Forum. Prior to Nuera, David was Director of Signal Processing at Cirrus Logic,and served as a Senior Engineer in Signal Processing at M/A–COM Linkabit and Fairchild Industries. David holds various patents in the areas of Signal Processing and Communication Systems. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at San Diego, and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park where he was distinguished as a Fairchild Scholar.
Jim Murphy, Chief Operating Officer
With more than 20 years of business development, marketing, and engineering experience at telecommunications, test equipment, and consumer electronics companies, Jim is uniquely suited to keep the Company’s operations running smoothly, meeting the needs of the Company’s service provider and carrier customers. Before joining the Company in 2008, Jim worked as a business development and product management executive at Cable System Services (CSS), Net2Phone Cable Telephony, ADC Telecommunications and Nuera Communications. At Nuera, Jim was responsible for creating a joint venture with Motorola and Cisco to allow cable companies to provision VoIP within the local loop. Based on this initiative, Motorola, AT&T and other strategic partners invested $40 million in Nuera. Jim received a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) from the University of Illinois, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from Manhattan College.
David Privee, Vice President of Sales
Over his 25 years of telecommunications industry sales experience, Dave has developed a consultative sales approach and believes that educating potential customers about complex technical solutions is the best way to foster long term customer relationships. Prior to joining the Company, Dave was Regional Sales Director at NexTone Communications where he was responsible for the Tier II and III carrier segment. Before that, he served as a Regional Sales Manager at Nuera Communications, where he focused on the Tier I and cable broadband markets. Prior to Nuera, Dave was the Director of Sales at Hypercom Network Systems, where he sold VoIP technology to ISPs and CLECS, and participated in the Southwestern Bell Company’s (SBC) first VoIP trial. Dave received a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering and Marketing from New Haven College.
Eric Hernaez, Vice President of Marketing
A new addition to the NetSapiens team in 2012, Eric has spent his career building start-up companies in the converged communications industry. Prior to joining NetSapiens, Eric was founder and CEO of Netmobo, Solegy and telic.net – all pioneering companies in the VoIP and real-time service delivery spaces. Before that he was VP, Business Development for Linkon Corp., an early producer of telephony and VoIP gateway equipment. He also oversaw the first SS7-enabled VoIP installation in Asia (1997) as COO for Sequel Communications (now a part of PLDT). Earlier in his career, Eric worked as a lawyer focusing on telecommunications issues. Eric graduated from Temple University with degrees in Marketing and Law.
