NetSapiens® and Dash911 Simplify Deployment of FCC-Compliant
E911 Services for VoIP Providers
Integration efforts welcomed by VoIP providers
LAS VEGAS, NV, February 27, 2007
– Dash911 announces today at the COMPTEL PLUS Spring 2007
Convention & Expo, that they have integrated their hosted
service platform with NetSapiens’ SNAPsolution™ to simplify
the implementation of 9-1-1 emergency calling services for
VoIP providers. The joint solution has already been deployed
by several service providers including San Diego-based Vinculum
Communications (www.vincomm.net). This solution is important
because the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) has mandated
that VoIP providers need to provide full 911 services to all
interconnected customers.
The new business and technology solution combines NetSapiens’
market-leading IP Multimedia Platform with Dash911’s hosted
service platform, to enable VoIP service providers to route
911 calls to the appropriate Public Safety Answering Point
(PSAP) based on the subscriber’s current location. A full
range of VoIP calling features, including custom call treatments
and web-based configuration, are available to subscribers
from the NetSapiens platform. When subscribers move their
VoIP device from one location to another, the Dash911 web
portal —integrated with NetSapiens’ own Self-Care solution
— offers a “ready to go” Web-based mechanism for them to easily
update their location information.
“Support for emergency calling is now a requirement for all
VoIP providers offering services in North America, based on
rulings by the regulators in both the United States and Canada,”
said Jon Arnold, VoIP blogger and principal of the telecommunications
analyst firm Jon Arnold and Associates. “NetSapiens is an
established leader in softswitching, so this product integration
is an important contribution to the VoIP industry’s adoption
of ubiquitous 9-1-1 service.”
“We’re pleased to work with NetSapiens to help deliver this
important component of public safety”, said Dash911’s Gregory
Giagnocavo. “NetSapiens’ state-of-the-art technology was great
to work with as we completed interoperability testing. The
FCC and savvy customers are demanding access to 9-1-1, and
VoIP providers using NetSapiens’ softswitch can clearly differentiate
their product offerings by providing 9-1-1 emergency calling
services.”
“NetSapiens values public safety, and we believe that integrating
9-1-1 emergency services into our SNAPsolution™ is a great
benefit for our customers, and for their subscribers,” said
Anand Buch, Co-Founder & CEO, NetSapiens. “We are pleased
to offer this integrated solution with Dash911 to our customers
as a reliable and easily deployed option for 9-1-1 services.”
