NetSapiens Debuts Next Generation Application
Delivery Architecture Including New Billing Platform
New architecture provides
end-to-end VoIP solutions for
Application Service Providers
Chicago, IL, June 19, 2007
– NetSapiens®, Inc., announces today at NXTcomm 2007,
the release of the latest version of the NetSapiens’ SNAPsolution™
which provides complete end-to-end VoIP solutions for Application
Service Providers in an open, standard architecture. This
new architecture includes a billing platform that allows service
providers to rate, manage, and bill for services and minutes.
The billing system is one of the latest additions to the SNAPsolution,
which is already deployed by service providers and small and
medium-sized businesses across the U.S. to leverage IP infrastructure
to offer new services, boost revenues and profitability, while
significantly increasing value for the end-users.
Architecture Overview
The SNAPsolution is broken down into 6 components for end-to-end
operations:
1) SNAPviews, 2) SNAPoss, 3) SNAPapps, 4) SNAPswitch, 5) SNAPadapters,
and
6) SNAPped In. SNAPviews include the portals for the agents,
administrators, end-users, NOCs, and resellers. The SNAPoss
provides the billing, provisioning, monitoring, authentication,
maintenance, and accounting. SNAPapps are all of the applications
that the solution provides, like Hosted PBX, call center,
pre-paid calling, unified messaging, and conferencing. These
applications are created through the combination and configuration
of modular components such as: Media servers, Conferencing
servers, Recording servers, and IVR servers. The SNAPswitch
handles the call routing and trunking, and provides the SIP
proxy. SNAPadapters refers to NetSapiens’ ability to create
software adaptations in order to interoperate with third party
software and systems, (e.g. VXML adapter or SMS adapter).
SNAPped In is the program where NetSapiens interoperates with
and resells leading third party software and hardware vendors
to complete the VoIP solution all the way to the end-user’s
desk. Devices include gateways, SIP phones, soft phones, ATAs,
and SIP proxys/softswitches
New Features in SNAPsolution
The next generation SNAPsolution architecture incorporates
a couple of new features that will change the way Application
Service Providers can manage their businesses and grow revenues.
NetSapiens adds a multi-tiered billing system built on a standards-based,
open platform which is flexible to allow for multiple durations
in billing periods, as well as multiple tiers for cost and
charges to tiered distributors and re-sellers. Service plans
can be defined and managed to include a varieties of service
items such as monthly service, voicemail, data storage, and
vanity number. The system will output the end invoices in
fully customizable and designable PDFs
Another new feature in the SNAPsolution is the Operator Console
for use in call center applications and front desk operations,
which can distribute calls in a queue. The console is NetSapiens’
first portal using an AJAX-based user interface. The AJAX
technology makes web pages “more responsive by exchanging
small amounts of data with the server behind the scenes, so
that the entire web page does not have to be reloaded each
time the user requests a change. This is intended to increase
the web page's interactivity, speed, functionality, and usability.”
(Source: Wikipedia) The Operator Console also utilizes open,
XML web services. The XML interface is a standard architecture,
which allows NetSapiens’ software to easily work with third
party devices.
Conclusion
“The new SNAPsolution architecture will benefit our current
service provider customers and prospective customers by guaranteeing
a flexible, standards-based environment, that is user-friendly,
and provides all the necessary tools for an end-to-end VoIP
solution,” said Anand Buch, Co-Founder & CEO, NetSapiens.
“Our solution accelerates service providers into VoIP application
delivery by being available on a subscription basis to dramatically
reduce capital expenditures, while allowing for growth of
theirbusiness and revenue. This turnkey solution is released
and ready for small and medium-sized carriers in a scalable
and robust platform. ”
