netsapiens recently announced over one million users on the netsapiens SNAPsolution platform. Anand Buch, netsapiens CEO, discusses this milestone and the journey it took to get there with Dean Perrine of JSA.
Dean:
This is JSA TV the newsroom for tech and telecom professionals. I’m Dean Perrine and welcome to JSA TV. I’m here with Mr. Anand Buch. Anand is the CEO of netsapiens. You know him well from previous JSA TVs. Anand, how are you?
Anand:
I am doing really well. Thank you, Dean. It’s good to see you.
Dean:
It’s great to see you as always. What you don’t know is that we are in Anand’s hometown of Chicago, Illinois. It just so happens that we were able to get together and have a quick video. It’s a perfect time because there’s a lot going on at netsapiens. Anand, since I was with you in in San Juan, Puerto Rico just a few months back- what’s happened since then?
Anand:
So, it’s actually been a really incredible start to the year (gosh I can’t believe it’s almost three quarters over already) but you know the big thing this year, as I reported at the User Group Meeting, we continue to see a lot of growth in the usage of the platform across all of our segments and all of our providers. The really exciting thing from a milestone standpoint is in July we actually crossed one million users on the platform. That’s pretty exciting! I think it’s a testament to the work that the entire team has been doing and also the community of service providers that we work with. So, we’re pretty excited about that big milestone. And you know, it’s nostalgic because we connected here in Chicago and you know it’s been a long run to get here and it’s nice to have this chat back in my hometown.
Dean:
I’m thrilled to be here actually. I love how this all came together and congratulations on a million users, Anand, that’s quite an accomplishment.
Anand:
I really appreciate it. Like I said, it’s quite humbling. It’s been it’s been a long run but again it hasn’t been without help from everybody along the way.
Dean:
You’ve always been exceedingly grateful, Anand, I really love that about you. So, thank you but the reason you get to a million users is because you provide a serious value to your customers. That’s something that we’ve been hearing a lot about netsapiens- the total value of the solution. Why don’t you tell our viewers a little bit about that?
Anand:
To your point, Dean, dating way back to the beginning of the company and how we started, it was all very much about driving value to our service providers and allowing them to gain a lot of control and a lot of decision making power and be able to dictate what kinds of products they put out to the market, how they price them, and how they package them. That continues to be the theme in terms of total value. Flexibility from the standpoint of business model, flexibility from the standpoint of feature functionality, and now the next step in that evolution is flexibility when it comes to deployment choices. Soon, at Channel Partners, we will be showing that off and announcing Managed Infrastructure as a Service which we’ve been talking about for quite some time and we are finally in a position to deliver. So, again, to your point, one of the reasons we stay focused on our client base is to help them grow because ultimately as they grow we see a lot of growth in our business and the numbers show it. Being able to get past a million users in this marketplace, depending on which analyst you look at, points to the entire community capturing 10% or more of the pure-play UCaaS market and that’s exciting news.
Dean:
Yeah, that’s great news and it’s great that we’re talking about it here in your hometown.
Anand:
It’s interesting when you roll back, as I’ve told you Dean, I left Chicago in 1993, going on about 26 years. In fact, last week was my 26th anniversary of getting into the telecom business and moving to San Diego so it’s kind of neat to go full circle and look at what we’ve accomplished personally and professionally not only from a career perspective- but the interesting thing is my business partner, David Wang, who is also the CTO and started this company, was the one who hired me out of school way back in 1993. So, here we are again, we’re on this journey together with the rest of the team and it’s exciting.
Dean:
I love it. Anand, thank you very much for having me out to your hometown and near my hometown. We’ll see you at Channel Partners.

Yes, that’s correct. We will be at the CCA event as well.
